I had to abort the online course given by the Vermont Dept. of Libraries, due to lack of time.  However, once I came up with an actual need for all this technology, I figured out how to post a set of photos on flickr with a link to it on my blog.  The photos can be viewed as a slide show.  This is an advantage over sending just 4 photos at a time as email attachments.  Hope you enjoy it.

Click on MORE PHOTOS, to the left, and you’ll open my flickr page (“photostream”).  Then click on “June 2008 vacation”, to the right.  Once that opens, there’s a link in the upper right to “slideshow”.  This will roll automatically, or you can go faster by positioning your pointer to the right of the photos to click on the arrow.  Instead of the slidewho, you can view each photo separately, which allows you to enlarge them.  The resolution does not seem as crisp as when I view the photos directly from my hard drive, but at least you can see them all together without dealing with downloading email attachments.  Tell me what you think!!

OK, I’m finally delving into this area.  The information on the feeds I chose was nothing interesting or useful– i heart peonies had pictures of wedding table settings (no peonies).

I’ve discovered using Google is nice because it offers several services that you can use with the same username & password (analytic, photo sharing and feeds).  I’m all for simplifying the use of all this cyber info!  It still seems like a lot of unimportant information sharing.  Unless I had tons of free time on my hands and a hobby that I wanted to write about, I can’t see a need for blogs, picture sharing, feeds, etc.

I was trying to imagine what a person would do who wanted to search for my photos in flickr.  I tried typing the title of one photo (annual phlox) in flickr’s search engine, and got lots of phots, but not mine.  Why?

After changing the format of my blog, I no longer see any but the last post.

Below is a link to a flower photo up uploaded to flickr.  I’ve created some tags for photos, and a couple of sets.  I am confused about groups.  I like the “notes” feature in flickr, but I can’t remember how to get a version of the photo where you can see them!  I’ve posted some comments on other people’s photos.
